Campaign Overview
#TheCapCares 2024
In 2024, our monthly collaboration with The Capitol Theatre (Port Chester, NY) and #TheCapCares initiative welcomed many new faces who generously donated their time while earning complimentary tickets to concerts and comedy events. Each season, we tailored our efforts to address key community needs: in the spring, we supported local gardens and farms; in the summer, we partnered with organizations dedicated to helping children; and in the fall, our focus was on combating food insecurity. Altogether, 168 volunteers contributed a total of 389 hours of service, making a meaningful impact on our community.
Volunteers spread mulch and weeded at the Lenoir Preserve Butterfly Garden, Cleared cover crops and prepped beds for veggie plantings at D.I.G Farm, Planted spinach, thinned lettuce seedlings, and ground fresh cornmeal at Our New Way Garden, joined the Port Chester Community Clean up on Earth Day, Sorted baby clothes and socks at 914Cares, packed 326 bags of weekend meals to fight childhood hunger at Filling In The Blanks, sorted and stocked warehouse shelves at Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, sliced apples, chopped celery, and prepared 300 meals at Second Chance Foods, and provided 51 families with Thanksgiving holiday meals at Pleasantville Food Pantry.
Volunteers also opened their hearts to donate 7 games of Trouble for kids’ holiday backpacks and 36 lbs of food.
Thanks to all for planting the seeds of kindness throughout our community!
